The Dominion

A collective pride roleplaying community

We, of The Dominion, are a semi-lit roleplaying community that is centered around 3 main prides; The Diederik, Ovishkar, and the Citadel. Each pride has it's own deep lore that shapes the members of it's pride, and how they affect The Dominion as a whole.

Our FH map pack pictures:

The Diederik

The Diederik are fierce, noble warriors who certainly lay claim to all land that comes beneath their paws. Their lack of morals and odd virtue of justice is truly something to fear, for even the dumbest among the Diederik are far more powerful than the average lion. This had led to the belief that all of them are simply idiotic brutes whose only passion is mindless fighting, though what has truly won their wars, and their territories, is their strategies..

The Ovishkar

Born from the hearth of spiritualistic belief, the pride was formed from a band of males who's only belief was in their god Dominique. Through them, he spoke his visions, his views on how this world ought to be. Through them, Dominique spread fear of the unknown, fear of those who wander beyond life's reaches, for there in the shadows he would manifest, and there he would lay claim..

The Citadel

The Citadel almost seems like a myth, a legend told to inspire young male lions to search the world for wonders like they have never seen. This place is very much real, and indeed as beautiful as its told in stories..

The Diederik

The Lone Warriors

King Julius

The Diederik are fierce, noble warriors who certainly lay claim to all land that comes beneath their paws. Their lack of morals and odd virtue of justice is truly something to fear, for even the dumbest among the Diederik are far more powerful than the average lion. This had led to the belief that all of them are simply idiotic brutes whose only passion is mindless fighting, though what has truly won their wars, and their territories, is their strategies.
Perhaps these gifts come from the only god they pray to; Xochicotzin. Their loyalty and admiration of the beautiful war goddess have earned them almost an eternity of prosperity among the mountainous regions that they lay claim to. They often perform ceremonies and rituals, offering themselves and other gifts to the goddess, in hopes that she will remain appeased and guide them against all who dare enter these lands.

X O C H I C O T Z I N
Goddess of War, The Hearth, and Rebirth

A merciless goddess whose main desire is to simply please herself. Be it bringing distraught upon those who do not worship, swooning other males, or perhaps bringing life to those who deserve it in her eyes. All that she does, is truly for herself, and no other. Though, albeit cruel and selfish, she still has her tender ways when dealing with a few.
Her main reason of worship is to bring good fortune to those who do not have it, and to bestow the gift of glorious victory upon those who wreck havoc. While her blessings are few, those who are granted her favor have truly fell to their demise not soon after their victory, leading to a true fear of her. It takes the foolish and the brave alike to approach the altar and pray for her blessing.
Another reason few worship her is due to her being renown for bringing those back from the dead. Lionesses who have suffered miscarriages, or stillborn cubs will come in their time of desperation to beg and plead to the goddess, though many have failed. As all will tell, this goddess only favors the beautiful, and the powerful.

H A R M O N Y
Demi-goddess of the Harvest and the Seasons

A beautiful dame birthed from the goddess Xochicotzin and an unnamed mortal, her beauty was soon proven to combat her mother's. Upon the realization of the man who flirted with her gorgeous daughter, her jealousy got the best of her, cursing her daughter with the glorious mane that combats all competitors. Heart broken upon the sight of her reflection, her tears are what are believed to bring upon the wet seasons of the land, known to be a purge of her pent up depression from no longer being seen as a beautiful maiden.
Harmony brings upon the blossoming of flowers and other herbal remedies, as well as protecting herds of prey within her altar area. Those who pray to her will often ask to feast upon the bountiful prey, though only few may truly court her into saying yes.

The Ovishkar

The Cannibals

Queen Nathaira

Born from the hearth of spiritualistic belief, the pride was formed from a band of males who's only belief was in their god Dominique. Through them, he spoke his visions, his views on how this world ought to be. Through them, Dominique spread fear of the unknown, fear of those who wander beyond life's reaches, for there in the shadows he would manifest, and there he would lay claim.
Though, beyond the pride's religious beliefs, the Ovishkar are emotional lions who value life and morals over much else. Though, dare to tread in their way, and you shall certainly feel their ivories fall beneath your skin. This has rightfully so given them their claim as the cannibals of the jungle, nomad's land, for everyone lion that passes through either becomes an Ovishkar, or dies as a meal.

D O M I N I Q U E
God of the Dead, Damned, and Nether

A god to be feared among all mortals, Dominique is best known for his quiet nature and viper strike. He is not a god to be bargained with, and most definitely not a god to be beloved. He is worshipped either as a true demonic beast, or a deliverer of peace and new beginnings, called upon by those to either wrought death or bring those down in hell eternal peace.
While he is mostly prayed to for bringing death and plague upon lands, the most important part of his role as the true king of the nether is to judge the lives of the dead, and either damn them or raise them to eternal peace. Though, one way to truly get cross with this god, is to swoon over his forever mate, Xochicotinz. Those who have merely breathed her name in the most flirtatious way, have been known to suffer the worst of all lions throughout the land.

Demi-goddess of Passage and Navigation

Born from the goddess Xochicotzin and an unnamed mortal, Glacier was favored by the goddess's true immortal partner. Born with the gift of true navigation, it was deemed fit she would follow in her supposed father's steps among the underworld. Her purpose beneath the land of the living is to guide those who seek Dominique's blessings further from the true altar.
Glacier is also prayed to for navigating lost souls, and is often shown as an idol buried alongside those who have passed, in hopes that the offer will help her lead those to a better life beyond the dead.

The Citadel

Oasis of Life

King Eric

The Citadel almost seems like a myth, a legend told to inspire young male lions to search the world for wonders like they have never seen. This place is very much real, and indeed as beautiful as its told in stories.
It is said that pride started with a harem of virgin wives that begged their god Selim to bring them to a promise land, one where they wont be treated harshly and could be mothers of their own accord. Selim complied and gave the mistresses his blessing, to venture into the desert and search for their new home.
What the stories never told, was that within the pride, a young prince had been birthed into life.
This prince would become the new ruler, a ruler with a delicate touch and something much more cruel within him.
To those males searching for this place of wonders where they could take these wives, beware for what you may find, for it may not be what you wished for.

Citadel Pantheon

S E L I M
God of the Deserts, The Dream Walker, Wanderer

Selim is a god of the sands, he will often appear to lions that have strayed too far into the deserts and gotten too weak from dehydration and hunger.
This god is not by any accounts merciful or very helpful to mortals during his appearances, showing up as a normal lion and having a calming chat with the mortal. Lulling them into a deep sleep when the weakness can't be beat. Giving them a calm death, should he appear.
This god is also known to appear in the dreams of mortals, more so than the other gods. Selim has the most interaction with mortal lions, To seers or prophets, he appears almost in every dream. Within these dreams he is his usual calm, laid back self. Often has conversations with the lion that views him. These dreams, to the mortal last a short amount of time despite the duration of the sleep. This can be dangerous to the lion, for if they are not woken for an extended period of time. They can be dragged into a everlasting coma.

Married to | Soval |
Offspring | Eli |

S O V A L
Goddess of Love, The Painter, Mother of the Heart

Soval is a goddess of love, and she is responsible for painting the skies during the rise and fall of the sun. She does not contact mortals often, or at all. Only a few mortals get to truly see her and speak to the mother of love. Many lions ask her for her everlasting blessing of fertility and love, Soval is a very picky and a hard to please god. Having a feather of Soval's wings is considered the ultimate token of fertility. She gives these sparingly, One of the perfect examples of those who wear her feathers is Selim, Her husband that she truly loves.
Soval is bound to Selim by heart, both of them love each other so much, that nothing could break such a strong bond. They are never jealous of one another, their fights last very little, and never reach to a point of physical or mental violence. This love they share is something for mortals to strive for in relationships.

This Goddess of love can be rather cruel however, to those that cross her. She curses mortals with infertility and even worse, can curse their cubs to grow horrific genetic mutations for as long as the mother and father live.

Married to | Selim |
Offspring | Ann |

E L I
Demi-goddess of Spirits, Lady Ash, The Burnt

Daughter of Selim and an unknown female.
Eli is a demi-goddess of spirits and so far, the kindest god of The Citadel. She spends the least amount of time with living mortals. She was once part of the pride Ovishkar, which shows her connections to the Nethers. Eli does not speak very much and is a very reserved demi-goddess, hiding her face from mortal eyes and even in the presence of gods. The only god that has seen her face is Soval. Selim respects her wishes to keep her face hidden from him. This demi-goddess is seen at places of large disasters with plenty of fatalities, fires most notably. She guides and help the spirits accept their own death and follow her to their fate.

A N N
Demi-goddess of Miracles and Hope

The Daughter of Soval and an unknown male.
Ann is a creation based upon hope and miracles. She is worshipped by the mortals of the Citadel as the one who helped them overcome their fears and bring them to the oasis. She represents acts of determination and purity. Her birth was mainly a draw of luck, for Soval rarely gives birth to a demi-god that survives.
